The Wisdom of Spring

Can you feel it?
The awakening of the earth? The drive to move outward? The intoxication of the sun’s potent energy calling you towards nature?
I can. And it feels magnetic. Today marks the spring equinox, and for many, this time also ushers in the true beginning of a new year. As the world around us begins to shift and sprout from the dark depths of winter’s dormancy, we too are called to bring forth new life into the realms of being.
For some, we’ve felt as though we are sitting on our thoughts of new beginnings, grand ideas, and hopes for what could be birthed this year. Waiting for the alignment of body and soul and their readiness to create.
Well, my friends, the time is now.
But spring is also a time of playing with our senses. She brings in the heat of soon-to-be summer’s igniting force and then recoils back into her shell of winter’s gestational grounds, all while toying with our emotions through wind, fog, sunshine and rain. She asks us to look inward at what it truly means to become adaptable to our surroundings and the balance we hold within. She reminds us of the volatility that can stir one day and the subsequent peace and stillness that may linger the next. Spring is a grand teacher, testing us always as we embark and venture on the new seedlings of spirit and creation that we aim our arrows towards next.
So I urge you to take this time of reawakening slowly, softly. There is no rush in nature. All comes forth as it is meant to in perfect timing and stride. We too can begin to create from this place. Because when we do not hurry through the pace of life, our nervous systems see that it is safe enough to move forward through the unknown regions of our psyche and environments. Our bodies become equipped to tread through the territory we most desire, yet may have never known before. We begin to come to each day with a capacity for exploration, rather than desperate seeking. We begin to see what it truly means to live within the guidance of earth, spirit and our highly intuitive nature. The one which connects us all and leads us back to the wisdom of our ancestors. To the wisdom of the earth. We begin to remember. And this brings to the forefront our whole and knowing truth. It grants us access to our most authentic being and life expression.
Let’s live here, in this energy, for a while. Let’s linger on what only spring can give us. The hope for new beginnings. The beauty of profound endings. And the call to the unseen next chapter of our lives and existence. Sit with this capacity for the unknown. She will grant you resilience and autonomy over your thoughts. feelings, actions, and ultimately life experience.
Because when you move out of living through a reactive lens, you move into an unshakeable stillness and awareness that no one can take from you. A power that only you can hold in an unsteady world. Your feet will plant wholeheartedly into the roots you were meant to emerge from. In grace and patience and fortitude. Your senses will attune to an acute awareness of the world around you, of the earth’s whispers, of your guiding forces at play.
This is where we can aim to live from each day. Greeting each beginning anew with hope and compassion and presence. And nourishing our seedlings with the intent of the fruits that will sustain us long term. Ask yourself, do I want to plant a single bushel, or a food forest, that will grow in resilience and yield over generations.
These are the things we must pollinate in our lives now. The things we must weed through in the gardens of our life’s work and water tenderly. I invite you take this time slowly with me as we wake up to the possibility growing all around us this year.
Happy spring!
